Adolescent
catechesis is emphasized within the context of Comprehensive Youth
Ministry. Adult formation in adolescent catechesis is offered to
catechetical leaders through the Basic Formation for Youth Ministry
program and the Basic Formation for Catechetical Leadership programs.
Formation in adolescent catechesis is also offered to catechists and
core team members at regional Catechist Days. Leaders are instructed in
the in the use of the Archdiocesan Catechectical Guidelines for Children
and Adolescents and the selection of appropriate catechetical texts.
Catechists are instructed in age appropriate learning methods, lesson
planning, and the use of catechetical texts and resources in conformity
with the Archdiocesan guidelines and the Bishop’s Ad Hoc Committee to
