Catholic
schools call young people to holiness and prepare them to live and
proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In collaboration with families,
Catholic schools teach the values of our faith and tradition, foster
experiences of community and service, and provide educational
excellence. Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston
are committed to the evangelizing mission of the church to educate
and form the whole person in mind, heart and spirit.
Catholic schools admit all students to rights,
privileges, programs and activities made available to the entire student body.
They do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin
in the administration of admission, athletic or tuition assistance programs.
Catholic elementary schools
are largely parish-centered. Some schools are owned and maintained by a
religious community or board of trustees. Catholic schools follow a basic
curriculum designed to meet and challenge the abilities of all students.
